My artistic practice explores vulnerability and its manifestations on both personal and structural levels. For me, the body is a political stage and as a physical and mental archive of experiences. To reveal the layers of intersectionality and inheritance that shape experience, I use autobiography as a tool and address themes that span gender-based violence, migration, and racism.
My research focuses particularly on child abuse, maltreatment, and domestic violence, exploring their connection to trauma and memory.
In my work, I investigate and interweave various visual media such as photography, with performance and language to come up with images and narratives that allow to trace the effects of trauma caused by experiences of violence. I aim to generate evidence that makes visible how power structures operate from the individual to the systemic level. Because naming and questioning are methods that ultimately aim at resisting the normalization of violence.
