Statement
My artistic practice explores vulnerability in relation to the human condition. I see the body as a political stage, carrying experiences that shape both the material and mental body. Through my work, I deconstruct violence—unraveling how it manifests in our bodies, our memories, and the images that surround us.
Using autobiography as a tool, I reveal the layers of intersectionality that shape my experience—from gender-based violence to the transnational violence of migration and racism. But my work is not just about my own story. By exposing these structures, I seek to create spaces for collective reflection, spaces where we can critically engage with the images and narratives that perpetuate violence.
I investigate the effects of trauma caused by experiences of violence. Through my work, I aim to generate evidence of its impact on the body and memory and examine its relationship to dominant power structures. By deconstructing violence, I look for ways to name it, question it, and ultimately resist its normalization.
